Program: Historical and Cultural Tour Combined

Day 1: Addis Ababa
We will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel for check-in. The first day we spent in the fascinating capital of the country: Addis Ababa. Depending on your time of arrival we take you on a half day or full day city tour visiting some sites of city like the Ethnographic Museum, National Museum, Trinity Cathedral, Mercato (the largest market of Africa) or the Entoto Hills just outside Addis Ababa.
Day 2: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar
After an early breakfast we leave Addis Ababa for a long drive to to the north. The journey leads us through the rolling hills of the Ethiopian Highlands where a lot of agricultural activity is taking place. We will enjoy the natural beauty of the Blue Nile Gorge on the way. Just before sunset we arrive in Bahir Dar.
Day 3: Bahir Dar
Today we have a full day boat trip on Lake Tana to explore some of the beautiful churches. Before we are heading to the churches the boat takes us to the the source of the Blue Nile where we find many water birds and maybe a hippo. It is about one hour by boat to reach Zeghe Peninsula where we visit the most famous church UhreKidaneMehret and Azewa mariyam. We enjoy a walk on the forested peninsula to the other churches and might meet monkeys and beautiful birds on the way. At the other side of the peninsula the boat is waiting and takes us to Kibran Gabriel Island (unfortunately women are not allowed) and finally back to Bahir Dar for lunch and in the late afternoon proceed to Bezawit Hill for the panaromic views of the city. Day 4 :Bahir Dar –Gonder
After an early breakfast we drive for about one hour to reach the small village of Tissisat. Here we enjoy a lovely walk in the cooler morning hours. We cross the Nile by the 17th century Portuguese Bridge and continue the walk to the falls, meeting local people on the way. After admiring the falls we cross the Nile by small boat to find our car waiting for us. We are heading back to Bahir Dar for lunch and proceed to our next destination Gondar.
Day 5: Gondar – Simien Mountain National park
We will spent the morning to visit the highlights of Gondar: the Royal Enclosure, Fasilidas Bath and DebreBirhan Selassie, the church with the angel faces painted on the ceiling. After lunch we proceed towards to Simien Mountains encountering spectacular scenery on the way as a good preparation for tomorrow. We enjoy the sunset at our destination the Simien Lodge.
Day 6 Simien Mountains
This is a full day visit to enjoy the natural beauty of the Simien Mountains. There are several opportunities to explore the park, on foot or by car. Depending on your interest and fitness we choose where to go. It is almost guaranteed you see the gelada baboon. The walia ibex and Ethiopian wolf are much more difficult to find.

Day 7: Simien Mountains – Axum
A long but spectacular day takes us to Axum. Just outside Debark we start our first decent down the Italian build Lima Limo scenic road and the rest of the day goes up and down until we finally cross one of the main river in Ethiopia known as Tekeze River. Overnight in Axum
Day 8 Axum
Axum is the most powerful state between the eastern Roman Empire and Persia founded closed to the Eritrean boarder. Several steale survive in the town of Axum dating between the 3rd and 4th century in a very visible position at the heart of the city. You will visit the ruins palaces of Queen of Sheba, obelisks of Axum, Maryam of Tsion churches. Overnight axum
Day 9 :Axum – Lalibela,
After early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport and fly to Lalibela. After lunch, start visiting the northen cluster includes Bete Medhanialem, Bete mariyam, Bete Meskel,Bete Gologota, and Bete DebreSina. Overight in Lalibela
Day 10: Fullday in Lalibela Lalibela
There are quite a few options to spent the rest of your time in Lalibela. For example a visit to the YemrehaneKristos church or a hike to the Asheton Maryam church and in the afternoon visit the remaining churches of the southern cluster includes Bete Gebriel, Bete Mercurios, Bete Emmanuel, Bete Libanon, Bete Giorgis. Day 11: Lalibela- Arbaminch
After early breakfast, take a flight to Arbaminch via Addis Abeba, After check in drive to Chencha mountain to visit the Dorze tribe very famous for weaving, and elephant faced traditional hut.
Day 12: Arbaminch-Konso-jinka
After breakfast, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo to visit the Nile crocodile market and hippo pods also you will visit a various species of aquatic birds, and then Drive to Konso to visit the beaituful Konso cultural terracing system and their ancient villages.
In the morning drive to Mursi about 75km through mago national park to visit the Mursi Tribe and their authentic villages. The Mursi woman are very famous for inserting lip plate for decoration and then drive back to Jinka for lunch. After Lunch proceed to Turmi to visit the hammer tribe welllknown for their body decoration. Overnight: Turmi
After breakfast, Drive to Omorate to visit the Desaneh tribe who lives among the Omo river. Take a traditional canoe to cross the omo river and visit the Desanech tribe and their villages. Then back to Turmi for short break and after lunch drive to visit Karo Tribe. Overnight: Turmi
Day 15: Hammer-KeyAfer-Arbaminch
After breakfast drive back to Arbaminch through key Afer admiring the breathtaking chains of Buska Mountain and you will attend a colorful weekly market if it is on Thursday and you will have a stop at Konso for Lunch. Overnight: Arbaminch
Day:16 Arbaminch- Addis
After morning breakfast, you will be transfer to the airport to take your flight to Addis. After lunch you will enjoy interesting shopping experience in the city. In the evening, you will attend a dinner with a live music and dance performance at one of the cultural restaurant
